I know half the battle is figuring out what to wear. Let me help! Once you've picked a location for your shoot, we can discuss specific ideas for your location and shoot. Below are some good starting guidelines.
Adults: pick your clothes first! Kids are adorable in almost anything, so make sure that you pick clothes that are flattering to you and that you love. If you don't love what you are wearing, you won't love your photos.
Think about your location and pick colors that complement your setting. If you are doing spring photos, consider pastels colors other than green as the background will be primarily green. For fall photos, richer tones tend to pop best. Pick one to three core colors and keep them in the same tone family (pastels, vibrants, muted, neons).
Choose your patterns and textures wisely, but feel free to add them in! Pattern can add a lot of interest in pictures. Avoid horizontal stripes on adults. Smaller prints tend to be less distracting in photos so think about how many large prints you include. Remember, coordinating is better than matching.
