About Me

"Photography is the art of making memories tangible."

—Destin Sparks

My love of photography. A lifelong passion.

I started photography classes in high school. I loved film photography and developing my own film and enlarging it. Once I finished my degree in business, I decided I wanted to keep learning and was ready to join the digital world to learn photoshop and how to take beautiful portraits. I love pictures and I knew I wanted to be able to take my kids' photos the way my mother did for me. I apprenticed with my mom, a fabulous portrait photographer who's been shooting for 20 years, to learn the art of portraiture and photoshop. I've been professionally shooting for 8 years now.

Photoshop can sometimes get a bad wrap for all the ways you can change or distort reality. I love using photoshop to enhance and beautify portraits. I love that when kids scrape a knee or get dirt all over their mom's shirt, the photoshoot isn't ruined. Photoshop can fix that. Moms don't have to stress about the the little things. You don't need to reschedule for that zit that showed up this week. We already know getting pictures taken can be stressful, I like to remove as much of that stress as possible.

As someone who cares more than she should about how I look in pictures, I have worked hard to learn to pose people in flattering ways. Don't know what to do with your hands in pictures? I'll help guide you to look your best.

More about me.

When I am not chasing around three energetic girls, you can find me with a stack of books from the library, a diet coke and chocolate bar. I love running...mostly so I can eat more brownies. I enjoy baking and cooking and planning new, fun photoshoots. Want something outside the box? Let talk and make something beautiful!
